Submission Rules and Conventions
You can enter as often as you like but only one song per entry per
submission form. If you are submitting a CD, tape, or record,
etc. containing more than one song, you must specify which song you
are submitting for consideration. Additional submission forms
can be obtained at no cost on Pop
Hits Monthly products beginning with July 2007 releases. There
are no age limitations with regard to eligibility, and anyone can
submit.
Due to the fact that there is no frame of reference by which a
performance can be compared, performances of original songs are not
eligible for consideration. A song submission from any Pop Hits
Monthly product is preferable as we already have a familiarity with
these titles, but any cover song is acceptable.
Each submission will be rated on several factors, some technical and
some artistic. Technical factors include, accuracy of pitch,
timing and lyrics. Considering that artistic values are
subjective they do not weigh as heavily in the evaluation process but
include: overall delivery, originality and feel.
The quality of the sound recording submitted is not important as is
the actual performance. Therefore a high quality sound recording
is not necessary.
Original songs must be accompanied by proof of ownership prior to
release.
